#ProjectAlbatross is open for students
In my most recent post about the Project Albatross Biology Teaching Project, I had mentioned that a website had been built and it was being populated with stuff. With a target date of Monday, April 5th for volunteer teachers to begin offering lessons, the thing is now open and available for student use. Here’s the URL: http://bit.ly/projectalbatross
The site provides access to the three major parts of the project:
Lesson schedules for students who might want to interface with a live teacher. Volunteer teachers are offering lessons for MS Biology, High School Biology, and AP/IB-level Biology. These lessons are scheduled, but the teachers are pretty open to suggestions, etc. for how to make these 30-minute sessions as useful as possible for students.
Curated resource collections for students.
A web-forum where students can post questions, etc. and get support from teachers. The forum does require a student/teacher to register to be able to post, but it is viewable by anyone without needing to sign in.
Please share this resource widely with students and colleagues. If it helps even one kid, then it has served its purpose.
Of course, if you are interested in helping with the project, there's a page on the site with volunteering opportunities, as well!
Be well, and stay safe!
