Election Craziness Overload!!!!

To illustrate just how wacky the political season is this year, here are the four top stories in the US feed on my google news page:

1.  Christine O’Donnell, Tea-Party supported, Republican candidate for Senate from Delaware, was unaware that the First Amendment establishes the separation of church and state in the Constitution she claims to want strictly interpreted.

2.  Joe Miller, Tea-Party supported, Republican candidate for Senate from Alaska, seemed to feel it was appropriate for his private security at a town-hall event in a public school to forcibly detain a journalist (the next day, he apparently suggested the US could use a border security plan similar to the one used by communist East Germany to keep it’s citizens from defecting).

3.  Sharon Angle, Tea-Party supported, Republican candidate for Senate from Nevada, felt it was appropriate to tell a group of latino school children that they looked “asian” to her.

4.  The Wall Street Journal’s latest poll suggests that Republicans are poised for “big gains” in the upcoming election.

Oh, and this guy is running for Governor of New York:

Normally, I’d say that was the craziest thing we should expect from an election cycle.  This year, I have no such confidence.
